Kat

Kat is an independent Brooklyn-based artist, designer, and art director with 8+ years of experience developing dynamic work in print, digital, brand, and multidisciplinary design.

She has collaborated with small business owners, grassroots organizers, non-profits, and Fortune 500 companies, delivering impactful work that spans branded digital, organic social, print publications, public installations, and bespoke artwork. She previously worked in branding as a Junior Art Director where she designed and led the development of several award-winning brands.

Her creative background is in new media art, drawing and painting, and research which empowers her ability to develop thought-provoking and unique creative.

A child of Jamaican immigrants, she is a third-culture-kid at heart. Her experiences inform her approach to design and she previously started a streetwear brand inspired by her life called BTWN Culture Apparel. One of her shirt designs from the project was featured on the 2021 Netflix Series High on the Hog. She later received her MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University where her thesis project was an intersectional ode to street style, Caribbean poetics, and Modernism.
 
Her playful, thoughtfully-crafted work sparks curiosity, champions inclusion and social transformation, and creates meaningful experiences that inspire authentic audience engagement.
